Johari Window

Johari Window

The Johari window is a technique designed to help people better understand their relationships with themselves and others. It was created by psychologists Joseph Luft and Harrington Ingham in 1955 and is used primarily in self-help groups and corporate settings as a heuristic exercise.

The Johari window model is used to enhance the individual’s perception of others. This model is based on two ideas:

• You can gain trust by revealing information about yourself to others.

• Gaining a better understanding of yourself as a result of their feedback.
